The Tourism Sustainability Certifications Alliance (TSCA) is a collaboration of leading globally recognised certification bodies working together to ensure that global best practice standards are maintained under a shared international brand.

We partner with organisations that share our values and are committed to maintaining credible certification that remains accessible to the travel industry and operators and provides assurance to travellers.  Together we represent 19,000 tourism certifications world wide

Our Objective

Our objective is to harmonise and reach a consensus on sustainability criteria and standards, creating a common, internationally recognised standard and language for the tourism industry.

Each of the certification organisations that make up the TSCA, develop their own systems, and methodologies, as well as management and certification tools, under a theoretical framework of common and consensual criteria that grant a unified recognition of sustainability assurance and good practices. We are talking about a recognition that is accessible to the industry, credible to consumers and continuously evolving to ensure that we meet global travel demands and international best practices.

Our Mission

Our mission is to certify the sustainable management of businesses and organisations along with their continuous improvement. Certification bodies that are TSCA members, utilize a set of universal criteria that are internationally recognised as the core actions required to deliver sustainability. TSCA’s common seal shows that the certification bodies are approved by the Alliance.

Businesses and organisations will be able to engage with any of the TSCA members, selecting a certification body with a system and tools that best fit with their enterprise or management needs.

The TSCA works collectively to meet the requirements of emerging consumer protection legislation, such as the EU Green Claims Directive and the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directives, and we discuss and align on approaches to future legislation, reporting standards and other requirements related to sustainable tourism certification.

By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the TSCA aims to create a strong and resilient tourism sector that not only meets regulatory requirements but also exceeds the expectations of conscientious consumers. Together we are building a sustainable future for tourism, ensuring that it remains a positive force for communities, economies and the environment.
